The Delaware State Housing Authority (DSHA) announced construction closing for the Chapel Branch Apartment complex in Lewes.
The development will use the Area of Opportunity Land Bank Program to secure the property and successfully applied for and allocation of Low-income Housing Tax Credits.
Of the 42 units to be built, 35 will be income restricted units at 60% of area median income and below and seven units that will be restricted to 80% of the AMI.
This development will include a mix of two and three-bedroom units and will exceed handicap accessibility requirements with six fully accessible units.
In addition to tax credits, DSHA funding included Housing Development Funding of $2,520,000 and American Rescue Plan Act funding totaling $500,000.
